Marc & Nora ROUND THE WORLD 2005/2006 - Join us!
The North Island: 'Aeron-Special': Kiwi Sheep-Shearing Show
In Australia when Nora almost didn´t get to hug a Koala I offered to dress up as one as a means of compensation. Here in New Zealand Nora almost didn`t get to see her New Zealand sheep shearing demo so I offered her a similar deal....suprisingly she turned me down here too! Probably for the better!
To spare me a shameful experience of donning wool, bleeting in a field and being abused by Welshmen & Kiwis we headed straight for Sheep World in Wakworth (approx. 50kms North of Auckland). It is a working sheep farm with a tourist element where you can see a sheep dog display, sheep sheering, learn about the NZ sheep farming and wool industry and feed baby lambs and a little baby red deer....awww! It was actually quite good fun and the animals were really cute including the odd looking Alpacas!
the first cut is the deepest...
