Marc & Nora ROUND THE WORLD 2005/2006 - Join us!

We arrived late on March 19th after a very chaotic flight with Qantas. New Zealand changed their time from summer to winter the night before which we werent aware of. Neither was the qantas flight deck. Departing on time we watched the estimated arrival time on the onboard screen which showed that we were meant to land 1 hour after our scheduled landing. the crew was confused - so were we.

Only after landing we found out that the kiwis have changed into wintertime which meant an extra hour time difference for us... so no delay - riddle solved.

At the airport we were met by Steffen, a friend of Trevor who generously offered us to stay in his house for a couple of days. He lives right in the city centre - perfect location!

After 2 days in Auckland we sorted out our means of transport for the following month - a micro campervan named "NORMAN the nissan" which was in fact a small estate car.

As we only spend 1 month in NZ we did not want to buy a vehicle and lose a week or so trying to sell it..
...and after our last van-selling ordeal we prefered renting!

The sleeping arrangement was quite annoying: every night we had to move all our gear to the front seats to adjust the seats in the back and have a bed (well a wooden board with a rather thin mattress.)
