The drive from Milford Sound to Queenstown is really beautiful - you pass Te Anau, a lovely small town situated right at the lake, drive alongside lakes and mountains - very impressive!

Queenstown is the mekka for adventure sports - white water rafting, bungee jumping, paragliding, skydiving, shotover jet,... you name it - Queenstown has it!

Initially we wanted to do white water rafting or some other crazy things here but our budget didnt allow it - it is rather expensive to do such things here - you also pay for the name queenstown - to do the same thing on the north island is much cheaper!

We arrived early and had beans (what else) in a lovely park - the leaves had fantastic colours (it is autumn), ducks were quacking around us and in the background we saw the hill with the cable car...a beautiful way of enjoying breakfast!

We didnt want to spend so much money on white water rafting or similar but we couldnt leave queenstown without having a go with the luge!

How much fun was that! The track is pretty scary - you decide how fast you go and quite often marc and i went down without braking only to find out that one side of our luge lost grip and was floating in the air - sideways...

However, we survived without major injuries!
