Marc & Nora ROUND THE WORLD 2005/2006 - Join us!
Australia - Down under: Great Ocean Road
From Melbourne we decided the cheapest car rental for 3 days to get to Adelaide and see the Great Ocean Road.
The cheapest option is not always the best option as we found out later (we still have ongoing discussions with europcar about a damage we havent done...)
however, wont get into detail with this (causes me severe headaches)
Most of the drive from Melbourne to Adelaide is the gorgeous Great Ocean Road.
We passed through little cute sea side resorts like LORNE and the weather was still nice enough for a swim (even though the water was rather chilly!)
beautiful turquoise water
Beach of Lorne
some of the infamous 12 apostles (only 8 of them are left) at late afternoon
us both in front of some apostles
Another one - the apostle in the front is the most recent one that has collapsed.
NO - it is NOT marc standing in front of a poster of the 12 apostles even though it may look like it!
Natural Bridge
There is a funny story behind London Bridge.
Apparently there wasnt always a gap - the rock formation used to be one and people could walk to the very end.
On one day a couple were sat on the right end of the rock when the middle bit collapsed. They had to be evacuated by helicopters - the incident understandibly raised high media awareness.
--> Now the funny bit: the couple was having an extra-marital affair so they didnt want to face the media as they did not want their partners to find out about the affair.
I wonder whether they are still having an ongoing affair...
