Nebraska

8.15.07:

At this point, it is nearing Day 3 of non-stop driving and non-stop showering, followed by a non-change of clothing.

Jen and I are exhausted and were told that there was a 50% chance of showers all week in Wyoming, not to mention a thunderstorm looming ahead. We decided it'd be best to head towards Colorado, Utah and Nevada instead. That way, we'd be closer to California by Friday.

Driving through Nebraska was wacked. There was this intense thunderstorm that lit up the entire sky, and sweet baby Jesus, scared me as I was driving along the dark, one-lane highway, and to make it all the more interesting, it was raining and the highway was weaving through the mountains.

I secretly cursed Jen while she was sleeping soundly through it all.

At 3am, I pulled over and couldn't drive anymore. My eyes were so strained and tired out from driving through the dark. Jen took over and around 4am, we pulled over at a motel parking lot to take a nap.
