Cross Country Road Trip- USA

Jen and I arrive into Maine and the first thing we need to do is a) use the restroom and b) find lodging.

We see this motel down the street so Jen pulls in while I inquire about vacancy and the nightly rate. We kind of wonder why there's a Sheriff's car out front, but we don't really pay it any mind. I opened up the door and the first thing I see is a boy playing Bubble Bobble. I look to my right and I see a family sitting on the sofa watching television, and an older, stout man wearing his boxers. They were all watching me as well.

I turned back to the boy and asked if they had any vacancies for the evening. He says "Oh, this isn't the office. The office is actually behind our house."

When I told Jen the story, she was dying laughing. The man I saw in the boxers had to be the sheriff and he was probably just relaxing and trying to enjoy his night off. I guess people in Maine have no need to lock their doors at night.

The motel office turned out to be closed (no surprise there) so we had to find some alternative lodging.

After checking in and unloading our bags, we decide to grab a bite to eat. Of course, all the restaurants in Maine had already closed by 7pm, so we were left no choice but to go to Denny's.
