Things We Loved/Loathed
Hassan:
Loved:
Beaches
Food
Cheap Prices
Seeing new things every day
Friendly people (for the most part)
Being able to haggle everything
Being there with Christi
Loathed:
Persistant salespeople
Not being able to trust people selling things because you know they are trying to screw you over
Being taken advantage of because you are a foreigner (count your change!!)
Crowded Bangkok
Christmas crap everywhere
Christi:
Loves:
-Krabi! Especially, Phang Nga Bay
-The delicious and yummy food
-Nice, hospitable people
-Great weather (if you go around December)
-Cheap... EVERYTHING!
-Great sights to see
-Food stalls and fruit shakes!
-Cheap 1-hr massages
-Chatuchak Market
-Being able to drink beer practically ANYWHERE!
Loathes:
-People not giving exact change, then when you question them about it, they act like they don't understand, even though they just told you in 'perfect English' the exact price for the exact quantity of items you just purchased.
-Mosquito bites!
-Smelly, weird toilets with water all over the floors
-Dry eyes and skin
-"Tuk tuk/Taxi/Umbrella/<Insert random object here> for you"
-The pollution
-Uneven pavements and sidewalks-- I can't begin to tell you how many times I've tripped! (I'm not a klutz either)
-No sticker prices on anything! So, if you don't know the product's worth or how to bargain, most likely, you're paying double, triple the amount.
-Salespeople that follow you around the store, and stand right next to you as you try things on-- yes, even shorts!
