Curly and Lina VS The World: BsAs - take 2

BA was a whole lot more hectic the second time around. Apparently while we where there in late Feb/early March it was still holidays and all the Porteños (people from BsAs) were away on holdiays. The city areas were out of control and the taxi drivers even more agressive which I wouldn´t have thought was possible.

Every Thursday the Mothers of the Plaze de Mayo march outside the Casa Rosada (governent house/Don´t cry for me argentina set). They are an organisation of women who lost their children during the military coup in Argentina during the 70s and 80s where an estimated 30,000 people went ´missing´. For more info: Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo

The mothers wear kerchiefs on their heads with the name and details of their missing children embroidered in blue. They also wear the pictures of their children around their necks usually with the words ¨¿dónde están?¨ or ¨Where are they?¨

So enough with the serious stuff . . . let´s party!

Through a series of strange events, we ended up at a really trashy dance club that was (when we first got there) playing heaps of old trashy 80s tunes. They even played DOWN UNDER which Curls and I screamed at the tops of our lungs.

Then the Regatton started which is kinda like latin hip hop. The boys we were hanging out with started to get a little too ¨funky¨on the dance floor so we ran away. Quite literally ran off the dance floor and into a cab and headed for the nearest gay bar.

Just thought I would put this in to prove that we were doing things during the day and not just going out getting drunk at night. It is a very fancy door, no?

We went to a restaurant and stumbled on some kind of weird felt hat party. We knew you wouldn´t believe us if we told you so Curly stole a hat and we took photos as proof.
