Round the world in 90 days!
Vamos al Campo
So my Tia Gaby has a little cabin in the country just outside of Santiago and she invited us to spend a weekend with her there. We had a really lovely time and it was a great way to catch up with long-lost relos.
One of the days we went for a walk about a really big hill together. It was a little treacherous but offered fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.
There is a very old unused mine which we had a bit of a poke around in. I didn´t like it much - I was scared.
Oh boy did we eat some food in the country. I´ve never seen so many tomatoes in all my life (I´m quite sure I´ve eaten tomatoes every day we´ve been here). One thing Chilenos are passionate about is their choclo (a special type of corn we don´t get in Australia) and it is yummy!
We also had a chancho (pork) parilla while we were in the country. This is a fabulous thing cooked over an open fire with loads of meat and a little bit of other stuff . . . YUMMO!
There is always dancing . . .
My family like to have a bit of fun and there is no better way to end the day than with a good ol´ fashioned water fight!
