All good things come in threes.
Malaysia
Malaysia - a shock we arrived in the next millenia as it appeared. Malayans are masters of building skayscrapers everywhere. Islam versus Buddhism. What a shock it was to arrive "in the next millenia" in Muslim Malaysia.
A westener will learn tolerance in Muslim Malaysia. A wide mix of different nationalities are inhabiting Malaysia and Malaysia will remain exotic and different.
There is a lot to do in Malaysia. Cameron Higlands, Perenthian islands, Tioman island - are places waiting to be seen and to be experienced. Kuala Lumpur will want us to come back as the skybridge of the Petrona towers was closed already and rainy weather blighted our visit to the KL towers.
Tower hopping and shopping in KL is wonderful in this very futuristic city and dont be a fool to think that Europe is the only comfortable place in the world. One could move easily and straight away to this wonderful city of Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia came as a complete "cultural shock" to the Laos spoiled traveller.
Please do not be surprised to find out that Malayans will speak perfect English and also please dont worry if local people are keen to meet you as I personally found out. Shaking hands with Malayans in the middle of the night in front of a futuristic super market was no rare occurence. Being blond is normal in most countries. Turning up in Malaysia with "yellow hair" as it was described in Laos, will give you certainly the X-Factor. People wanted to meet me and I was happily shaking hands in the middle of the night with Malayans and doing small talk in the finest of my in England aquired "Oxford English". Patiently I explained with great skill to have been living in Great Britain for many years as Germans so I have heard from Malayans and know normally "cannot" speak English.
