Ghana,a totally different world: Accra, The Capital of Ghana
Accra is one of those cities you either love or hate; there is no "in between." It's noisy and dirty, immersed with millions of cars, and clouded with pollution. But on the other hand, the people are very friendly and the sound of music is at every corner. These people can't stand still when they hear music, so they start to dance with the first beat and you see shaking bodies everythere. There are lots of small kitchens (Chop bars) that serve kebabs everywhere, which are not the same as Turkish kebabs. In Accra a kebab is small pieces of meat skewed with a stick and spicy as hell! So you need bread and a drink with it to survive, no problem, you get it next door for sure. There were a lot of exotic foods to choose from. There were three-star restaurants next to "greasy spoon" kitchens, and streets filled with the very best dressed to the next to naked beggars who all constantly welcome you with the brightest smiles you can imagine. "What's up man?" is a common expression. You have to beware of the cabbies because they will try to cheat the hell out of you, if you're not on top of your game. But that's in every part of the world, so usually, paying half the price of a fare is still too much. On the whole, the people are nice and will offer to help if you seem lost and helpless. So you have to choose: Either love or hate it. I decided to love it!
