Thailand: Phuket
Phuket.
For me Phuket is awful. It's one of the worst examples how mass tourism can change a place. Sky scratchers, only disco bars; you get "weißwürste" and French red wine and it's really hard to find a quiet place. I only went there to see how the Tsunami affected that place. Phukets beaches were almost totally destroyed by the Tsunami, so I expected the worst but I was surprised. You hardly see anything from the damage anymore, almost everything is rebuilt and you only see some building sites. It almost looks like before the Tsunami but there is one big difference. All the wooden restaurants on the beach are now made of concrete!
