Round the world in 7 months
Travel time: November 2004 - June 2005 | by Volker (Heusche) Pakulat
Philippines: Manila
The huge capital of the Philippines has only little more to offer than noice, pollution, dust and cars. This is like most of the big cities around the world are, but Manila doesn't have any flair like Bangkok or Accra. There are only few interesting places like the Chinese Cementery, the Rizal Park and maybe Chinatown. The taxi drivers cheat the hell out of you and all the times somebody wants to sell you something in a way that really bothers. So it's not worth to stay more than one or two days, and maybe it's better to fly into the Philippines through Cebu, unless you want to go to the north of the country or to Puerto Galera, like I did.
