Sihanoukville
Merry Christmas, everyone. That doesn't mean I have much in the way of actual news, though. Something about lying on the beach for 11 days straight just isn't condusive to writing anything very exciting about it.
Sihanoukville is a small town, situated on a peninsula with beautiful beaches on all coasts. We spent the entire time in one tiny backpacker ghetto and three different beaches and i don't have any regrets about that, as the city is way too spread out to see on foot, and we came to lay on the beach anyway.
Alright - every day was more or less the same, so here it is: get up around.. umm... 11, go for breakfast. The last three or four days we found out that the bar next to our GH served an absolutely fantastic breakfast with good coffee and fresh orange juice for $2.50, so we made it a habit to treat ourselves. Then it was to the beach, the speed with which we got there depending on the weather, which was generally perfect, though there were a couple overcast days. Then in the evening, dinner.. maybe cards, a few drinks. Also, we went to see a couple movies at the neat-o open air movie theatre: The Aviator, and Old Boy which i didn't understand at all. They were both good, nonetheless.
I think that's it. You've all been to the beach, right?
That first kid has brilliant timing.
mmmmm...notice you can see my feet in my glasses?
Spectacular sunsets, every night. Did you know that catherine hates sunsets? probably hates long walks on the beach, too.
yep. hates em.
...some people say the impressionists were just near-sighted...
I know, i know.. sunset pictures.. what can i say?
until next time.
We're off to Siem Reap on the boat tomorrow. Should be fun, but I gotta get off to bed.
