My trip around the world... India
28.12. Hitchhiking from Ko Lanta to Bangkok: 04.01.05 Riding bike arround Pai
After a long sleep today we took our bikes and headed for the rough north side of Thailand..First through some small villages and then the highway through the forest and followed a winding road. The view was amazing. The bike was a 125 cc machine half automatic and I was very proud that I could handle this machine... I drove sometimes even 100 km p/hrs. At a certain moment we wanted to drive to hot springs and the road was really bad, at least for me...hihihi..so at the first hill I lost control and found myself face down in the sand..No big deal, but it frightened me a bit. We decided to go back and as we drove down the hill I saw a family easily drive upwards that hill...I felt a bit stupid. Normally we would go tomorrow to the Burma border but because the police is checking the roads for people who do not have a license, we decided to take the mini bus instead. I needed to go to Burma to extend my Visa.
Today I received a message from the meditation center that I could attend the Vippassana Meditation course. (www.dharma.org) The course will last 10 days. 12 till 23rd of January. In these 10 days it is not allowed to speak, read, write smoke, drink alcohol or do some sports....so absolutely nothing.
During the day you mediate and eat very light food. It starts at 4:00 A.M and stops at 21:30 P.M. Im am looking forward to that...hmhmhm...And of course I hope that I will manage. I already spoke with several people that attended the course and they told me it is pretty tough. But I say to myself...it never can be worse than the Yoga course in India....I just going to do it, so let's see what happens.
The fatal sand hill what a joke..hmhm..
