Mali 2001: Bamako

Bamako is one of these big cities you normaly don´t want to go to, but as it got the only international airport in the country you can´t pass. As I arrived close to midnight I had to stay the first night here before I went to Mopti the next evening. Enough time to relax from the flight which was a bid fatiguing because of the 6 hours I have to spend at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and to buy a busticket. Once in the bus I saw the first European. The bus itself. One of these buses which had used in the cities of Europe and are know running in Africa. It still got the timetable of the Steiermark (Austria) in it. On my journey I should see a lot of cars which still got their European numberplates on it. The ride on the bus was ok. There was only one stop in San where they have to change the battery because it wasn´t work anymore which wasn´t schemed. But this didn´t bring the windscreens back to work, as it was raining a bit during the night.
