Gosandra travels round the world

I did a 4-day organized tour to Kruger park with Livingstone trails, very nice, can very much recommend them.
They picked me up at the hostel in Jo'burg, it was a very international group with people from Italy, USA, England, Ireland and Poland (where were the Germans this time?
Our first day brought us past the Blyde River Canyon (very picturesque, totally deserves being hiked through during a four day trip... next time...) to a nice little traditional african village at Mafunyani, where we stayed the night and were fed a nice African meal (consisting of pap, mashed squash and chicken), mmmhhh.

ok, off to Kruger we go in the morning. I will add more pictures at a later time, it seems that the various internetcafes are always dying on me when i upload too much.
anyways, we first went to a cheetah breeding project in hoedspruit, at least there you get to see the kittens from close up.
our camp inside kruger was a number of permanent tents just inside orpen gate. compared to hluhluwe i would say that basically due to its much larger size it is a lot more difficult to spot animals other than impalas. However, on our daydrive we spotted some lions hunting for impalas (unsuccessfully), a big herd of elephants and some cute hippos (mama and baby). my close up pictures were taken through the binoculars, interesting how it works...
I also did a Morning walk and that was quite cool, two guides with big guns and we looking for rhinos and lions. Unfortunately again the lions had decided to overnight a few kilometers off our walking area (from where we could hear them roar, and there's quite some force behind a lions roar, forget about MGM!) and from the rhino we only saw footprints (which is probably good, considering it was a black rhino's footprint, and those bastards are vicious!). So, not much to see, it should be much more exciting to go on a proper few day wilderness trail as they offer in all the National Parks. One last highlight on the way back to the camp: the leopard! So, all in all, I did see all the Big Five: Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard.
Off to Southeast Asia!
