A school with a future - Ladakh 2006
Travel time: August 2006 | by A. S.
Beautiful Ladakh
Ladakh, this is one of the last places on the earth, where the tibetan culture is still alive. An area, which is located behind high mountain passes of the Himalayan range in the northwest of India. Due to the rough climate the former kingdom is cut off from the outside world every year between October and May, because it is not possible to use the access roads and - passes. Only during the summertime the traffic rolls on both highways with the directions Manali and Srinagar and it brings beside the needed goods also a lot of tourists into the land. Nevertheless the buddhism-influenced people kept a naturalness, which I rarely have seen before.
